Note:
In 1900, on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition in Paris, another monument rose above the forest, hunting, fishing and gathering pavilion. This pavilion, almost 200 meters long, located on the left bank below the Pont d'Iéna, whose massive parts have been reduced to a minimum, offers free access to light. This building houses all the riches of the French region but also from abroad, products intended for industrial manufacturing such as paper, oils, rubber, etc. In short, a clever mix of agricultural fair and country show before its time.
But “the monumental part of this construction is constituted by the entrance door, an immense veranda with magnificent bas-reliefs and master sculptures”.
With this deer fight almost four meters high, the art of Georges Gardet climbs to the top of this pavilion.
